# preAMP Conversion Scheme

$preAMP will be [converted](https://docs.amply.finance/using-amply-finance/converting-preamp-to-amply) to $AMPLY over a 3 month period.

The first 10% will be immediately unlocked at time of conversion, followed by a 1 month freeze. After this freeze period, there will be a 2 month period where an equal amount of $AMPLY will be unlocked every day.

For example, let’s assume you have 1000 $AMPLY. Using 6 Nov as the conversion date:

**On 6 Nov:** 

* 10% of your $AMPLY (100 tokens) is unlocked upfront which can be claimed to your wallet, OR
* 100% of your $AMPLY (1000 tokens) can be staked for 3 months 

**From 6 Nov - 6 Dec:**

* No additional tokens will be unlocked during this period. 
* During this time, you may choose to stake the remaining $AMPLY for 3 months in order to earn extra yield while waiting for the tokens to unlock.

**From 6 Dec - 6 Feb:** 

* An equal amount of $AMPLY will be unlocked daily during these 2 months. 
* If you choose not to stake your $AMPLY, you can instead withdraw them as they unlock.

**From 6 Feb - 6 Mar:**

* On 6 Feb, all of your $AMPLY will be unlocked and can be fully withdrawn
* You need to [claim](https://docs.amply.finance/using-amply-finance/staking-amply/claim-amply-rewards) all $AMPLY by the claim deadline of 6 March (1 month after Full unlock). All unclaimed AMPLY after the claim deadline will be forfeited
